About Me

To condense my entire life story somewhat, I’m a Creative Writing (BA Hons) graduate who is currently working a retail job and has been struck with the sort of post-education aimlessness so many of us fall into. I aspire to become a novelist, but haven’t done much in the way of writing for a few years now. As a writer I enjoy experimenting with new ways of weaving words, and believe that through the progression of new methods of storytelling, human beings may make progress towards more fully understanding each other. At its most basic level, however, I write because the voices in my head would probably overwhelm me if I didn’t give them characters to talk through.

(Sidenote: I do not actually hear voices in my head.)

This blog was created not only as a place to display my non-fictional writing capabilities, but mostly as a place for me to construct my thoughts into actual text. Typically I’ll write about an aspect of life, or society, or the world. I try to line every blog post with my persona so as not to make it feel completely impersonal. This blog has retroactively become part of my Tombstone Project, a series of blog posts and life writing collected together at the end of my life to make a sort of collection of memoirs written in the present, rather than retrospectively. Hopefully its publication is still many decades off!

Thank you very much for visiting my blog. Feel free to poke around and read through my backlog and let me know when I inevitably contradict myself. It’s going to happen, and frankly, I can’t wait. But in the meantime, remember that I don’t bite and that if you have something to say to me I’m always willing to listen.

I’m also a gamer. If that’s the kind of thing you’re more interested in reading, then head on over to my other blog, 32 Bit Brain. It’s updated more often than this one nowadays!
