A Short Word on Christmas

Christmas, to me, has nothing to do with religion. It has nothing to do with consumerism; I push aside my cynicism for one month, specially for December 25th. It’s not about getting things (which is, I’ll admit, a nice plus) and it’s not about spamming overdone Christmas songs and movies that we’ve all seen and heard a thousand times.

Christmas, to me, is a celebration of family, love, and relaxation in the midst of what is literally the darkest time of the year. A time to do away with grudges and scepticism, and simply celebrate, relax and do things differently for a few days. To eat too much food and show your appreciation for those around you.

So, with earnest and excess cheesiness, I have this to say: Merry Christmas, everyone!
